Late Goals Salvage Point

By Swanage FC

Swans late comeback..........

Swans 2 Corfe Castle 2
Swans and Corfe Castle shared the points in The Dorset Premier League at Day's Park. The result left The Swans looking for their first win of the season with Corfe still unbeaten.

Corfe were desperately unlucky not to take the lead after 3 minutes when last season's top scorer, Courtney Johnstone, saw his shot hit both posts. The visitors edged the first 30 minutes and created a couple of chances which Swans keeper Ben Rolleston had to be alert to save. Corfe's Jack Hector opened the scoring on 34 minutes with a low shot which found it's way past the Swans keeper.

Defender Andy Bartlett made a superb goal line clearance to prevent the Purbeck visitors from increasing their lead, however on 38 minutes Ryan Cattano scored Corfe Castle's second, dispossessing The Swans keeper and slotting home. H.T. 0-2.

Like Saturday it was a much more determined Swans side in the second half, Corfe stopper Bradley Smith produced two great saves from skipper Paul Best. Swans keeper Ben Rolleston had to be at his best to prevent the visitors adding to their score. The drama unfolded in the last 4 minutes, Paul Best scored after 86 minutes with a diving header following a great free kick from Elliot Parslowe which was headed across goal by Dave Best. With a minute remaining provider became scorer when substitute Dave Best salvaged a point scoring with a low shot which found the bottom corner.
