Reserves win Purbeck derby...........

Swans Reserves produced their first win of the season defeating Purbeck rivals Wareham Reserves at the Purbeck Sports Centre 1-0 in Dorset League Division 1.

Swans were full of confidence during the build up to the Purbeck derby against Wareham Reserves having signed 3 new players to bolster the squad.

The first half was very even and a typical derby game with few chances, however Swans striker Sam Willcocks went close when his effort hit the post. New signing James Taylor had an early chance to impress replacing Jack Grace because of injury after 15 minutes, and was very impressive with both his attacking and defensive duties. H.T. 0-0.

The only goal of the game arrived courtesy of new signing centre back Chris Smith who headed home following a corner from Matt Dunster. The visitors were felt hard done by when the lively Willcocks was brought down in the box but the referee turned down the appeals for a penalty. Wareham pressed hard for the equaliser but Swans defence held firm and were rewarded with their first win of the season and Purbeck bragging rights.

Co manager Andy Dunster was delighted with his sides performance.
