Blandford United Reserves 3 Swans Reserves 3
Brassington, Peacock, Willcocks
Swans Reserves gained a valuable away point in their fight against relegation with a 3-3 draw against Blandford United Reserves in Dorset League Division 1.
The Royals took the lead after 6 minutes when Keeper George Taylor failed to hold a shot which the Blandford forward snapped up to fire home. Swans equalised when skipper Charlie Brassington scored with a powerful shot from 25 yards. The Swans always looked dangerous going forward and Sam Willcocks hit the post with a fine effort and the hosts keeper made a fantastic save from Cody-Rose Moore, however the Blandford took the lead following a harsh penalty just before half time. H.T. 2-1.
Swans battled well in the second half and were rewarded when Sam Peacock finished from close range following a great pass from Charlie Brassington for the equaliser. The Swans were now pushing for the winner and following a superb run and pass from Cody Rose-Moore, Sam Willcocks finished from close range to put his side ahead for the first time.
With the minutes ticking away Cody Rose-Moore beat 3 players and went around the keeper in a great run but incredibly missed the target, the Royals went straight down the other end and equalised with a header following a corner in the last minute to deny The Swans all 3 points.
A great team performance and outstanding performances from Cameron Crompton, Charlie Brassington and Cody Rose-Moore.
Stand in managers John Peacock and Gerald Dimarco were delighted with the performance but felt the side should have taken the 3 points.
