Swans beaten 4-2.........

Haxell Cup - Wareham Rangers 4 Swans 2
Swans suffered a 4-2 defeat to Purbeck rivals Wareham Rangers in The Haxell Cup Final in a disappointing evening at The Purbeck Sports Centre.

Swans started very slowly giving the ball away cheaply in the first 10 minutes and Wareham capitalised on some poor defending to open the scoring. The Swans gradually eased into the game and created some chances through Elliot Parslow and Frankie White, however 10 minutes before half time the hosts doubled their lead again punishing poor defensive work.

Swans had their best spell in the 10 minutes before half time and were unlucky not to score with Frankie White and Ogun Gundogdo hitting the woodwork. H.T. 2-0.

A minute into the restart of the second half Wareham grabbed their third when the Swans' defence failed to cope with the hosts forwards. Skipper Paul Best headed home from close range on 60 minutes but this proved to be a false dawn with the home side hitting number 4 a minute later.

Swans did manage to reduce the arrears on 80 minutes through a Ogun Gundogdu header, however this proved too little too late and Wareham deserved to win The Haxell Cup.
