Merley Cobham Sports 1 Swans 2
Swans completed a superb double with a 2-1 away win against Merley Cobham Sports in The Dorset Premier League.
The Swans came flying out of the traps with a goal from Cody Moore on 4 minutes, capitalising on a short back pass to finish coolly past keeper Knight. The hosts hit back strongly creating and missing several chances with Josh Buck guilty of missing the best chance with a header when well placed. Swans keeper Taylor Hibbs had to be at his best with Cobham now pressing for the leveller and the Swans were saved by the woodwork when Eze-Sunday hit the post. H.T. 0-1.
Swans showed a steely determination in the second half with a well organised performance and nearly doubled their lead when Brad Smith hit the woodwork with a header and Charlie Brassington went close with the rebound. Hibbs at the other end produced a couple of smart saves to deny the hosts an equaliser. Swans doubled their lead on 80 minutes with a cool side foot finish from Dan Reeks the ex-Merley striker, signed this season, following a great cross from Jake Streams. A minute later, with the Swans still celebrating, Merley reduced the arrears through Charlie Shears. Swans experienced a nervy last 5 minutes but held on for a superb away win and 3 points to take back to the Purbeck.
