Superb away win.........

Swanage Reserves arrived in Weymouth to play Balti Reserves with several key players missing. Yerby, carpenter, scott were all missing from last week's win but fortunately the first team game was off so Beeston stayed in goal and we welcomed both the Beard brothers for the day.

In blustery conditions the game started in a frantic fashion with many long balls running out of play. After 10 minutes Taylor played a through ball to Beard who ran through to slot the ball under the keeper. Swanage defended well but the continuous long balls with the wind behind Balti proved too difficult to defend and the Balti centre forward shot early and low, Beeston saved well but the ball crept under his hand and trickled in for the equaliser. Beard had several more chances to score but their keeper made some good saves. Swanage struggled to get the ball down and play football and resorted to kicking it long and absorbing pressure. On a break forward Beard picked the ball up from a throw then took on 3 Balti players and hit a great shot from the edge of the box to put the Swans ahead five minutes from the break.
Swanage tried to see out the half but a soft free kick that was launched into the box deceived the defence and was headed home by the Balti centre back. H.T. 2-2.

Swanage dominated the second half, the wind behind them made a big difference and with quick players like Brassington, Gideon and Cameron Beard were always a danger to the hosts.
Beard fired home his 3rd of the game on 55 minutes and Swanage continued to dominate the game. Balti had a great chance to make it 3-3 on 65 minutes but a superb save by Beeston denied the forward.

On 75 minutes Swanage won a free kick on the half way line, this time Matt Beard hit the ball forward, the Balti Centre back headed the ball backwards over the keeper for a 4-2 lead. Swans created several great chances but good goalkeeping and poor finishing prevented any more goals. This was the Reserves 4th consecutive win, a superb effort.
