3 points at Day's Park..........

Swans took to the fIeld at a blustery day is park in good form. A couple of wins on the bounce and playing good football, Swans met a mid-table Parley Reserves.

With Rushforth in Spain teaching interpretative dance for a few weeks and Peacock missing from last week's win, Carpenter moved to centre back along side Yerby and Gideon started on the right wing.

The game started well, Swans knocked the ball around and kept hold of possession .The majority of play was in the Parley half but couldn't break down their defence.
Swans took the lead on 35 minutes when Taylor controlled the ball and played a ball through to Littleford who took on two defenders and was tripped from behind. Brassington picked up the ball and buried it in the bottom left hand corner. 1-0. The game floated to half time with the ball mainly in the air.
HT 1-0.
The second half was far more a physical battle than the first Taylor, Brassington, Carpenter and Moss all took heavy knocks as Parley looked to get back into the game. They managed to equalise on 55 minutes as a clear handball on the halfway line wasn't given and the played played a long ball through for the centre forward to tuck away. Swans could be guilty of waiting for the free kick and not playing to the whistle. 1-1.
The game changed from this moment with Swans clearly on top. Littleford made good progress down the right hand side and was unlucky a few times not to get better balls into the area. The breakthrough came as Littleford was played in down the right once again, he cut the ball back to Aaron Scott on the edge of the box who curled the ball into the left hand side of the net. He claimed he miss hit it and the wind took it but they all count! 2-1.
5 minutes later and it should have been 3. Scott played a great ball over to the far post where Taylor met it with a header which went just over the bar. The same routine worked better on 75 minutes when Scott played an identical ball to Taylor who hustled the defender. The defender headed the ball onto Taylor's arm and it went in..... I'm Claiming it!!! 3-1.
The game died at this point, the wind was taken out of Parley sails and they made hard work of the remaining ten minutes. Swans closed down well and had a few half chances but the game fizzled out.
Again we showed spirit, hard work, organisation and some players showed how good they could be. It was good to see Brad Smith take his chance in the team. Ryan Moss and Charlie Brassington controlled large parts of the game and made a big difference
