Swans Reserves suffered a home defeat to Poole Borough at Day's Park despite a late comeback. Scorers: Ben Lock, Mike Hernandez & Tony Parrott (pen)

Despite a late comeback Swans Reserves failed to salvage any points from this 7 goal thriller at Day's Park against Poole Borough Reserves. Manager Lee James had to draft in 4 players from the U17s youth side because of injuries. It was a very even first 20 minutes, debutant youth player Mike Hernandez missing a good chance. After 25 minutes another U17 player, substitute Ben Lock, was introduced for his debut because of injury to Garan Bennett, and made an immediate impact, coolly slotting home to put the Swans ahead. The visitors denied Swanage a half time lead, equilising after 44 minutes following a neat move involving 3 players.
H.T. 1-1.

The hosts started the second half slowly and a lack of concentration and poor defending enabled the visitors to take the lead. 2 goals in a 4 minute spell put the visitors firmly in the driving seat, but with youngsters Hernandez and Lock looking lively up front a comeback always looked possible, and the pair combined when Hernandez fired home after a good pass from Lock. Following a foul on Ben Lock, Tony Parrott converted the resulting penalty for the third Swanage goal. It was now game on but the Swans failed to equilise despite going close on a number of occasions.

Manager Lee James said "I was very pleased with the U17 lads and the spirit and commitment of the team".
