5-1 cup defeat.........

Verwood Town 5 Swans 1

Swans bowed out of The Dorset Senior Cup a 5-1 against Verwood Town at Potterne Park.

Swans suffered a blow when skipper Paul Best was ruled out of the line up through illness, and to make matters worse the Swans conceded a penalty after 4 minutes which was superbly saved by keeper James Langdon (pictured above), but unfortunately he dislocated his shoulder saving the spot kick and had to be substituted for Dan Beeston.

Substitute keeper Beeston produced 3 good saves to keep his side in the game but could do very little when Daniel Hunt fired his side ahead on 30 minutes. Two minutes before the interval Lee Vint doubled his sides lead with a well taken second. H.T. 2-0.

The second half was controlled by Wessex league 1 Verwood Town and added 3 further goals at regular intervals and apart from Ogun Gundogdu header Swans had very little to show for their endeavours, however were rewarded with a last minute consolation goal from Graeme Rose.
