Match abandoned.....No extra time, or Penalties..........

Swans 1 Verwood Town 1 (Abandoned after 90 minutes)

Swans Dorset Senior Cup match against Verwood Town at Day's Park was abandoned after 90 minutes because of torrential rain which prevented extra time and penalties.

Wessex League Verwood struck first after 6 minutes when a long range effort from Ethan Maddocks found it's way passed Swans keeper James Langdon.

Both sides produced an entertaining first half in poor conditions, and Paul Best went close following good work from Cody Moore. The visitors were unlucky not to increase their lead when the ball hit the underside of the bar and rebounded to safety. H.T. 0-1.

Swans produced the perfect start to the second half with a 47th minute goal from Tommy Beard who scored with a free kick from just outside of the penalty box. Swans were growing in confidence and substitute Graeme Rose went close with a chip with keeper Sam Thompson out of his goal.

With the score 1-1 after 90 minutes the referee abandoned the match because the torrential rain was making the pitch dangerous for the players.

The replayed match will be at Day's Park on Wednesday 13th November kick off 7.45pm.
